James Watt Junior lived at Aston Hall for nearly 30 years and made it a comfortable home. Join historian Chris Rice to hear about the life of James Watt Jnr; his work for the Boulton and Watt firm and the task of furnishing Aston Hall. The talk will be followed by a guided tour of the Hall.

Chris Rice is a freelance curator, historic buildings expert and heritage project manager with over 25 years experience in the museums and heritage sector. Prior to going freelance in 2013 he was Head of Heritage Services for Birmingham Museums with responsibility for a number of historic sites including Aston Hall, Soho House, Sarehole Mill and the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter. Chris’s areas of expertise include the Lunar Society, the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter and 17th & 18th century architecture and interiors.
